Anger

"Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame."

-Benjamin Franklin

Oh my, what truth there is. How many times have I gone out and done something incredibly stupid because I was mad at somebody? I don't think I can count that high, and I know I don't want to remember all those dumb things that I've said and done.

The truth is that when we let ourselves be controlled by anger we end up hurting others, and more often than not those we hurt are the same people that we should be showing the most affection and consideration to. The fact that we can't go back in time and change the actions that we've taken only makes it all the more important to strive to be kinder and gentler to those around us.

  1. This truth should be written on our doors. The statement "Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame." as explains the mystery of the current pollution, as point at a way to revive the love - teach us to share not the guns but welcomes

  2. Here is one of my favorites! Meister Eckhart said, "If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice."

Thanks for the blog! (I send out a Quote everyday - if you are interested, sign up at my site).

  3. I am glad for you. Thank you.

Striving to be kinder and gentler to those around us bloom out with just incredibly colors of smile at a moment we recognize ourselves in others and our steps start to correspond our belief. Yet these nice goals remain just nice words till then.
